First, check if your browser plugin is installed. If not, install the plugin from the XDM->Tools->Browser Monitoring page in your browser. You can add it from the XDM->Tools->Browser Monitoring menu and add the file extension in “XDM will automatically download browser downloads for the following file types”. For example, if XDM does not automatically download DMG files, simply add this extension to the list of supported files as mentioned above. XDM doesn't show "Download Video" option while playing video in browser. How to solve it?
First, check if your browser plugin is installed. If not, install the plugin from XDM menu->Tools->Browser Monitor page. It is also possible that the video size is too small and XDM is ignoring it. For this to work, simply go to XDM menu->Tools->Browser Monitor and reduce the value in the “Download video larger than” dropdown. Alternatively, you can copy the address of the web page containing the video, go to XDM menu->File->Download video and paste the address. XDM will analyze and download the video. I get an error message saying “An error occurred while adding/converting parts of the file, please check if the drive is full or write protected.” Because?
You are using an older version of XDM or you have not installed the plugins. Go to XDM menu->Help->Update plugins. If the problem persists, please post the issue to: XDM menu->Help->Support page.
XDM is controlling downloads incorrectly, which I don't want it to do, how can I stop this?
When the “New Download” window appears, click the “More…” button and select “Do not capture downloads from this address”. Alternatively, if you do not want XDM to capture a specific file type, such as PDF, simply remove the file from the list of supported files. Go to XDM menu->Tools->Browser Monitor and remove the file type from the list “XDM will automatically capture browser downloads for the following file types”.

Select a different format in your browser's video player, and XDM will automatically include that format in the "Download Video" panel. Alternatively, copy the address of the web page containing the video and paste it into the "Download Video" dialog box from XDM->File->Download Video menu.
How to increase XDM download speed?
You can optimize your XDM network settings, from XDM menu->Tools->Network Optimization and select your connection type.
When resuming the download, XDM tells you that the download session has expired. What should I do?
Select the download and click the update link; then click “Open webpage containing”. If you are downloading a file, XDM will automatically select the new download link. If it is a streaming video, select the same format in the “Download Video” panel. If it is a video download in the “Download Video” list, select the same format in the dialog box. If this option is not there, select the “Advanced Settings” checkbox, open the webpage where you found the download, copy the download link and paste the new download URL. Don’t forget to click “Save” if you are pasting the link manually.
How can I download files one by one?
There are two options:
- Set “Maximum simultaneous downloads” to 1. Then continue adding downloads. While one download is in progress, the others will wait.
- Use the download queue. When you add a download, click “More…” and select the queue. You can create new queues from XDM menu->Tools->Options->Queue & Scheduler.
